How to get started with training
Do you want to start working out or get back into training after a break? Are you missing the right training motivation to get going?
Tips to get started with training
Train together with others
Training together with others makes it easier to get started. It can feel harder to skip training when you have an appointment with a friend or others. It can also be extra motivating and fun to have someone to train with.

Home training
Training at home offers more flexibility. For some, it can be extra challenging to get to the gym, and the doorstep may feel far away. For others, it can be uncomfortable to train with many others around. Home training can be a good solution to establish a training routine that works for you. You don’t need many tools to have a good training session, and you can use your imagination and furniture as aids. There are also some companies or personal trainers who offer online training, either on their website or on YouTube, so you can easily follow the training from your living room.

Enjoy running
Running is one of the best and simplest forms of exercise and a fantastic way to get in shape. If you want to escape the stress of everyday life, listen to music or a podcast, feel the wind, or simply enjoy nature – this is a perfect form of training. There is also nothing stopping you from combining it with a friend or partner – go on a little running date or help motivate each other!
Getting started with running is not a complicated task, as the hardest part is actually to begin. It requires minimal equipment, you can start running as soon as you step outside, and it does not require advanced things like GPS watches, complicated training plans, or a course on how to run.
To elaborate on the latter, there are some things you should have for running. Besides good shoes and appropriate clothing, it is very important to make a plan for yourself, possibly with a running partner. The plan should strengthen motivation, be encouraging, and prepare you for the next time!
At first, it is fine just to plan how often you want to run, and a 30-minute session is perfect, but feel free to build on how much and how fast over time. Also include variation in the route. If you run in your local area, see if you can get out to the forest or find a trail.
Last but not least, set goals. Motivation can often be closely linked to a specific goal. Keep it simple, but make sure it is realistic, measurable, and time-bound. As mentioned earlier, 30 minutes is a perfect start. Try to set a goal where you continuously try to run for 30 minutes, and that you should be able to do it within a specific timeframe.

Create a training program
A training program can be a tool that helps you plan your training sessions while logging your performances. This can be motivating to look back on, but also make training more exciting to complete. It is common to feel more secure when you have a plan of what will happen, and this is a function of a training diary. It can be easier to complete the training session if you know what will take place during the workout. Lack of planning can lead to a bad session, especially if you haven’t trained much before.
Take pictures along the way so you can easily look back at your progress. For many, it can be very motivating to see their own development. The results can be more visible than you think, so comparing pictures after a while can be encouraging.

Find a personal trainer
For some, it can be easier to get started with training if you have a personal trainer. For many, it can be more binding than training with a friend. A fixed appointment can be decisive and what it takes to actually maintain the training. This can be useful whether you have motivation problems or if you are unsure what exercises to perform to achieve your desired results. A personal trainer can ensure you get a training program tailored to you, and there is less risk of injury or overuse. For some, just a few sessions with a personal trainer are enough to get started with training.

Find inspiration on social media
Social media makes it easier for you to find inspiration for different exercises that you can perform both at the gym and during home training. There are many influencers who make good and descriptive sessions and include videos of the exercises. This is a useful tool if you are unsure how an exercise is performed in practice or if you dare not experiment at the gym. This can help you feel more comfortable with the equipment or exercises at the gym.
Ps: Save the videos you want to use so you can easily find them again!
